HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA -- The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin-Wallace College women's tennis team lost to Elizabethtown (Pa.) College, 8-1, this morning (Wednesday, March 7, 2012) in the sixth match of its Annual Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. B-W also plays Alvernia (Pa.) College in its final spring trip match later today at 2:30 p.m.

Despite its loss, B-W is now 4-7 overall, including a 4-2 mark in Hilton Head. Elizabethtown, an NCAA Division III Tournament participant a year ago,  is now 4-0 overall.

EC gained a 3-0 lead in doubles and then won five of six singles matches to win for the fourth time down south.

In singles play, senior No.1 player Jenny Greene (Worthington/ Thomas Worthington) won by the scores of 6-3 and 6-2. With her victory in singles, Greene has 49 career wins and moves up to rank 10th all-time.

Following its two matches today, the Yellow Jackets return to Berea and begin northern play on March 23 when it travels to Gambier to play another NCAA Div. III tourney team in Kenyon College. The first home match is on Saturday, March 31 when B-W hosts OAC rival Muskingum UNiversity on the "Pop" Collins Courts at 1:00 p.m.
