ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The fifth-seeded Baldwin-Wallace College women's tennis team was defeated by the fourth-seeded  University of Mount Union, 5-1, today (Tuesday, May 1, 2012)  in an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match at the Mount Union Courts.

In the OAC Tournament, all matches are ended when the winning team reaches five team points regardless of the current progress of other matches still on court.   Each match will start with the three doubles matches and will continue with singles action until the winning five points are obtained.

With its loss, the Yellow Jackets end their season with a record of 9-14 overall.  Mount Union improves to 13-6 overall and will advance to the OAC Tournament Semifinals to face the winner of  #top-seed Ohio Northern University and # 8-seed Muskingum University  match on Friday, May 6 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason at 1:00 p.m.

The other semi-finals match will feature of the winner of today's match between  the winner of #3-seed Otterbein University and #6-seed Heidelberg University against the winner of #2-seed John Carroll and #7-seed Capital. The OAC Championship Match is on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m.

B-W got its lone point in doubles action as the number two tandem of senior Jenny Greene (Worthington/ Thomas Worthington) and junior Danielle Rueger (Ashland) won by an 8-4 score.
