Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Ohio Wesleyan

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace women's swimming and diving team defeats the Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University to a final score of 130-75 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW (7-0) won 8 out of 11 events, as it defeated Ohio Wesleyan to a final score of 130-75.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

  • Freshman Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper Saint Clair) won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:02.61
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:31.82 and placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:04.30 
  • Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.26 seconds and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.60 seconds
  • Sophomore All-OAC Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.48 and won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:18.51
  • Senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:04.88 
  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) placed second in the 100-yard breaststoke with a time of 1:11.36

 BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard medley relay squad of Fibbi, junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.), Slife and Dondorfer won in a time of 2:00.37
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of sophomore Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside), freshman Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./ Harbor Creek), freshman Emily Kusar (Perry) and Ratino won in a time of 1:48.92 

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 12 when it hosts Mount Union University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
