Dondorfer Earns All-OAC Honors; Women's Swimming and Diving Sits in Fourth Place After Day Two of OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio -  Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) earns All-OAC honors with the Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team sitting in fourth place with 154 points on the second day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Dondorfer is the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.47
    • This is Dondorfer's fourth career All-OAC honors 
  • Senior All-OAC performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.86
  • Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) finished 12th in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.84 seconds

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Dondorfer, junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.),junior Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills), and Ratino competed yesterday evening with a finish of third in a time of 8:04.70
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Slife, Wells, freshman Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) and freshman Emily Kusar (Perry) placed fourth in a time of 1:43.75 
  • The 400-yard medley relay team of DondorferReed, senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) and Ratino finished third in a time of 4:05.52

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow for day three of the OAC Championships at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium. Preliminary action begins each day at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m.
