Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet against John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW (8-5) fell to John Carroll to a final score of 157-45

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.63 seconds
  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:33.01 and finished second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:20.82
  • Junior Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) finished third in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:10.80
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:35.46 and placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:05.91
  • Junior Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills) finsihed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:00.47
  • Freshman Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./ Harbor Creek) placed third in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:23.08
  • Senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) finished third in the 200-yard buttefly in a time of 2:32.03
  • Junior Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) placed third in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:10.80 

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool tomorrow Saturday, January 28 has it travels to South Euclid for an non-conferene dual meet against NCAA Division II Notre Dame College and Frostburg State University in the Mellen Pool inside Keller Center
