Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Down NCAA Division II Malone

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team takes down NCAA Division II Malone University to a final score of 146-46 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW (8-1) won 10 out of 12 events, as it defeated Malone to a final score of 146-46 .

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:09.01
  • Freshman Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./ Harbor Creek) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:09.00 and won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:23.91 
  • Sophomore All-OAC Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.77 seconds and won the 200-yard buttefly in a time of 2:24.21
  • Sophomore Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside) won 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:12.04
  • Junior Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills) won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.13
  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:09.01and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:04.21
  • Junior Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) places second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:49.81

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard medley relay squad of Fibbi, sophomore Mattie Hicks (Oneida), Pantoja, and junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won in a time of 2:02.13
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Pantoja, Ingalls, Reed and Slife won in a time of 1:49.84

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Sarasota, Florida on their annual winter break training trip
