Women's Swimming and Diving Claim Two Victories in Non-Conference Matchup

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team earned two victories against Buffalo State University and State University of New York at Fredonia at Kissinger Pool 

BW (6-0) won 5 out of 14 events, as it defeated Buffalo State by a final score of 147-128 and Fredonia State, 166-103. 

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:09.19 and won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:38.43
  • Sophomore All-OAC Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:21.30 and won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:21.11 and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.35
  • Freshman Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper Saint Clair) won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:40.64
  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) placed second in the 100-yard breaststoke in a time of 1:10.21 and placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:33.56
  • Senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:35.84 and finished third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.72
  • Sophomore Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside) placed third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.89 seconds
  • Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 59.09 seconds

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-freestyle relay team of Slife, freshman Emily Kusar (Perry), junior Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills) and Ratino placed second in a time of 1:49.93
  • The 200-medley relay squad of Dondorfer, Reed, Syron, and Slife placed second in a time of 2:00.31

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 5 when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan University inside the BW Natatorium
