BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each lost in dual meet competition today (Saturday, November 15, 2008) at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania.
The Yellow Jacket men lost to the Presidents men, 160-131, and suffered their first defeat of the season. The BW women lost to the Presidents women, 148-113. With its loss, the Yellow Jacket men are now 3-1 overall. The BW women are now 1-3 overall.
Highlighting the day for the men was sophomore two-time NCAA Division III All-American Todd Richert (North Royalton) won both diving events and senior Nick Gattozzi (Strongsville) won the 200-meter breaststroke.Richert won the one-meter diving event with 259.45 points and captured the three-meter event with 253.10 points. Gattozzi won his race in 2:23.05. The Yellow Jacket women did not have an individual winner.
The BW swimmers and divers are back in action Thursday, December 5 when they compete in the first day of the three-day Fredonia State University Invitational Meet in Fredonia, New York.
