Arroyo Earns Sixth Career OAC Wrestler of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Senior two-time All-American Anthony Arroyo (Maumee) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the sixth time in his illustrious career.

Arroyo earned his 100th career victory at Baldwin Wallace after a 3-0 weekend at the Waynesburg Duals, becoming the seventh BW wrestler to win 100 matches and jumps into sixth All-time on the career wins leaderboard. Arroyo won his first two matches with pinfalls of 2:00 and 3:43, and claimed his 100th victory with a 6-2 decision, improving his career record to 100-17, including an 85 percent winning percentage.

This honor adds to Arroyo's many accolades, including third and fifth place finishes in the Division lll National Tournament, OAC John Summa Wrestler of the Year in 2017-18, three first-team All-OAC selections, and an All-Central Regional selection.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday December, 14 when they travel to Kings Port, N.Y. to square off against the U.S Merchant Marine Academy at 7 p.m. BW returns home on Saturday January, 19 for a quad-match with OAC foes Heidelberg University, Muskingum University, and Otterbein University.
