WHEATON, Ill. – Senior two-time NCAA Division III All-American 165-pounder Anthony Arroyo (Maumee) had a perfect 5-0 record and won an individual title as the fifth-ranked (National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III National Poll) Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team placed third of 25 teams in the Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College. Arroyo was one of four BW place-winners. There were 11 of the Top-25 ranked schools in Division III at Wheaton.

BW was led by Arroyo, who is ranked sixth nationally in Division III (see the Division III individual rankings here) improved to 19-1 this season and 111-18 for his career (a .860 winning percentage). He recorded two major decisions (10-2 in the second round and 12-3 in the semifinals), one technical fall (15-0 in the third round), and two pins (3:19 in the quarterfinals and 2:13 in the championship match). Arroyo's 111 wins ties him with Mark Tinney (1993-1997) for third all-time and one more than current Assistant Coach David Shapiro's 110 triumphs.

Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference 141-pounder Charlie Nash (Norwalk) dropped down to 133 pounds at Wheaton and placed third. He had two pins, two victories by-decision and one technical fall. His third place bout came the way of an 8-5 winning decision. Sophomore All-OAC 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/ Elyria Catholic) earned a fourth place spot with three wins by-decision and two major decisions. Earning a sixth place finish was sophomore 141-pounder Tanner McHugh (New Ringgold, Pa./ Tamaqua) with a 4-2 record.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this coming weekend on Saturday, February 2 when BW hosts the 33rd Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament, inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
