Ginnetti Earns Second Straight CoSIDA/Google Cloud Academic All-District Honor

BEREA, Ohio – For the second time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference 125-pounder Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 At-Large team.

Ginnetti and the rest of the first team honorees now advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in June. 

The accounting major carries a 3.97 cumulative GPA and is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Ginnetti is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection and a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Academic selection. Additionally, the junior received the 2017-18 BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the wrestling team.

This season, Ginnetti finished with a 25-10 overall record including 14 pins and five technical falls. He was a second-team All-OAC selection and qualified for his second straight NCAA Division III Championships by winning the 125-pound title at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships. Ginnetti was named the Most Valuable Wrestler of the regionals and earned his second consecutive All-Central Region honor.

In his career, Ginnetti has compiled an 85-30 record, which ranks 20th in school history, and he owns a .739 winning percentage. Other career accolades include two All-OAC honors, two All-Central Region accolades, three tournament titles and one OAC Wrestler of the Week award. 

BW finished the 2018-19 season with a dual match record of 14-2 and an OAC mark of 5-1, capturing a school-record fourth straight OAC Championship and achieving a national ranking as high as fifth in NCAA Division III. The Yellow Jackets were the runners-up in the 2019 NCAA Central Region Championships with six wrestlers qualifying for the national tournament.
