Hickman Earns All-OAC Honors; Men's Outdoor Track and Field Place Seventh After Day One of OAC Championships

ALLIANCE, Ohio. -   Sophomore All- Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) earned All-OAC honors as the Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team placed seventh after day one of the OAC Championships hosted by University of Mount Union inside Kehres Stadium

BW is currently in seventh after day one with 16 points. Sitting in first is Mount Union with 75 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included: 

  • In the 3000-meter steeplechase, junior Carter Almady (Brunswick) placed eigth in a time of 9:48.60
  • Senior David Russo (DePew, N.Y. / DePew) placed 11th in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 32:41.19

Field events highlighted:

  • Hickman was the runner-up in discus throw with a mark of 149' 2", earning his first All-OAC honors. 
  • Junior Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) placed eighth in the javlin throw with a mark of 149' 2"
  • In the long jump, freshman All-OAC selection Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) placed seventh with a mark of 21' 9½"

On the relay side:

  • The 4x800 relay squad of sophomore Connor Foody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny), freshman Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station), junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine), and junior Jackson Tucker (Akron / Lake Center Christian School) finished fifth in a time of 7:58.45

The Yellow Jacket's Prelims:  

  • In the 110-meter hurdles prelim, senior All-OAC hurdler ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) won in a time of 14.86 seconds and will advance to tomorrow's finals
  • Faggs placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.42 seconds and will run in the finals tomorrow. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Friday May 5th for the final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. Field events start at 11am and running events at 3pm.
