Men's Track and Field Opens the Outdoor Season at Amy Adams Invitational

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team opened the outdoor season as the team finished fourth at the Amy Adams Invitational hosted by Muskingum University.

BW placed fourth out of eight participating teams with 75 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Freshman Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine) placed ninth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.30 seconds
  • Freshman Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.87 seconds
  • Junior Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.01 seconds
  • Freshman Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station) finished sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:01.24
  • Junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) placed second in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:12.45
  • Senior David Russo (DePew, N.Y. / DePew) finished 10th in the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:48.14

Field events highlighted:

  • Junior Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) competed at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Invitational hosted by Cedarville University.
    • Barnes competed in the javelin throw and placed ninth with a mark of 131' 10"
  • Sophomore Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) placed eighth in javelin throw with a distance of 113' 1"
  • Sophomore Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) finished third in shot put with a distance of 47'7" and  finished ninth in hammer throw with a mark of 145'2"
  • Freshman Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) placed fourth in triple jump with a distance of 40' 10½"
  • Sophomore All-OAC high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) finished second in high jump with a height of 6' 4.75"
  • Freshmen Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20' 10¾" 

On the relay side:

  •  The 4x100-meter relay squad of Faggs, Washington Jr., Kooyman and sophomore Sean Summers  placed second in a time of 43.35 seconds
  • The 4x400-meter relay team of Sikorski, Friscone, senior All-OAC ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) and Stanley won in a timeof 3:31.53 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action when they travel across town to Oberlin College to compete in the Oberlin Spring Invitatioanl on Robert Kahn Track
