WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team opened its 2023 indoor season at the Otterbein Invitational in the Clements Recreation Center. Team scores were unscored.

On the track highlights include:

• Senior ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.61 seconds
• Freshmen Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station) won the 500-meter run in a time of 1:08.93 and 10th in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:42.79
• Freshmen Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) placed second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.13 seconds and third in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.12 seconds
• Freshmen Donovan Birkett (Barbeton / Rootstown) finished fourth in the 400-meter run in a time of 54.06 seconds
• Senior David Russo (DePew, N.Y. / DePew) placed 18th in the one-mile run in a time of 4:32.98

On the Relay Side:

• The 4x200 squad of sophomore Mikel Love (Fort Pierce, Fla. / Westwood), junior Vontae Jackson (Cleveland / John Hay), sophomore Broden Bostwick (Strongsville / St. Edward) and Faggs won in a time of 1:34.96
• The 4x400 team of freshmen Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia), Sikorski, junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) and senior Nick Glowacki (Amherst) won in a time of 3:37.58

Field event highlights:

• Junior John Haberman (Hamburg, N.Y.) won weight throw with a mark of 46' 1½" and placed third in shot put with a distance of 41' 2¼"
• Sophomore Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a height of 6' 6¾" 
• Faggs placed second in the long jump with a mark of 21' 11¾"

BW will partake in its home-opening meet on Saturday, January 28 for the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge at 10:00 a.m. in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
