Men's Indoor Track and Field Stands in Eighth Place After Day One of OAC Championships

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field standsin eighth place after the first day of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW is eight of 10 points with eight points.  The University of Mount Union is first with 92 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • In the 55-meter hurdles prelims, senior ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) qualifies for the finals by finishing first in a time of 7.69 seconds.
  • Freshman Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station) placed 14th in the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:08.10
  • Junior Carter Almady (Brunswick) finished 16th in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:39.65

Field events highlighted:

  • Freshman Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 22' 2½"
  • Sophomore Brennan Beil (Canfield) placed 11th in weight throw with a mark of 48' 5"

On the relay side:

  • The distance medley relay squad of Sikorski, freshman Donovan Birkett (Barbeton / Rootstown), junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) and senior David Russo (DePew, N.Y. / DePew) placed fourth in a time of 10:34.40

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow for the last day of the OAC Championships. Field event action begins at 10 a.m. with track events at 2:30 p.m.
