Complete USTFCCCA All-Academic Selections
NEW ORLEANS – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference, Academic All-OAC and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) has garnered United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Honors for the fourth straight season.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have a student-athlete must have at least a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 and above and either accepted into the NCAA Indoor Championship or finishing the regular indoor season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event.
Achladis, who was a middle childhood education major, earned his fourth accolade as he carried a 3.83 grade point average. Earlier this summer, he earned his first career CoSIDA Academic All-American honor as he was selected to the third-team. Achladis became the 12th men's cross country and track and field student-athlete to earn the honor. He is a three-time Academic All-OAC a Dean's List student, Jacket scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Athletically, Achladis was a 2018 national qualifier, a four-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, four-time All-OAC performer and 2018 OAC shot put champion.
Additionally, the men's track and field team was honored as one of 115 teams as the it carried a 3.13 GPA. In order to earn this recognition, a team must have a cumulative team grade point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter.
