Men's Track and Field Congratulates Two Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio - As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the nation and the world, the Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and men's track and field team want to take the time to recognize the hard work and dedication of its two senior student-athletes.

Ted Achladis and Isaac Wilson saw their final outdoor season come to an abrupt end before it could even start when the Ohio Athletic Conference and NCAA canceled the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on March 12. With the cancelation, these two young men did not get a chance to get a Seniors' Day recognition or the chance to compete in the OAC Outdoor Championships.

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athletes will come back for another season or continue down their career path. So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these two young men on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the men's track and field program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Achladis is a middle childhood education major from Avon Lake, Ohio and a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. The four-time All-OAC thrower and 2018 national outdoor qualifier will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring. For his career, Achladis has been crowned OAC champion and All-Ohio champion once apiece for his performances in the shot put and discus events, respectively. He has also been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region team on four occasions. Academically, Achladis has landed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team three times, and has been an Academic All-OAC selection on two occasions. The Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society carries a 3.85 grade point average. Achladis is the son of Ted and Julie Achladis.
