Men's Indoor Track and Field Places 10th at Mid-February Open

BEREA, Ohio – In its second home meet of the season, the Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed in the Mid-February Open on the Harrison Dillard Track, inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW placed 10th out of 14 participating teams, earning 34 total points. Meanwhile, NCAA Division II institution California University of Pennsylvania claimed the team title with 101 points.

The Yellow Jackets showcased their best performances on the track this evening. Sophomore David Prather (Hardin, Mont.) and freshman Zack Justus (Maineville/Kings) placed second and third in the 1000-meter run event, both achieving career-best marks of 2:38.52 and 2:38.78, respectively.  Junior Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) earned the runner-up spot in the 5000-meter run with a final time of 16:20.41. Meanwhile, freshman Alex Burkhammer (Chardon/Grand Valley) also earned a career-best time in the 400-meter dash, completing the event with a third-place finish in 52.96.

BW returns to action on Saturday, February 15, when it travels to Westerville to compete in the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center at noon.
