Women Picked Fourth, Men Tabbed Fifth in 2019-20 OAC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2019-20 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Preseason Coaches Poll, while the men's team has been selected fifth.

The BW women finished tied for fourth place with Ohio Northern University in this year's voting with 55 points. Crosstown rival, and 2019 OAC Outdoor champions John Carroll University claimed the top spot in the poll with 79 points and seven first-place votes. Second-placed University of Mount Union garnered 70 points and the remaining three first-place votes, while 2018-19 OAC Indoor champions Otterbein University assumed the third spot just one point behind with 69.

On the men's side, the Yellow Jackets finished fifth of 10 OAC teams with 45 points. Defending 2018-19 Indoor and 2019 Outdoor champions Mount Union claimed the top position in the poll with 78 points and six first-place votes. Trailing closely behind in second was crosstown rival John Carroll who accumulated 75 points and the four remaining first-place votes. Otterbein and Ohio Northern grabbed the third and fourth spots with 65 and 55 points, respectively.

Head Coach Jordan Hill '09, who is in her second season at the helm of both track and field squads, returns 21 letterwinners for the women and 10 for the men from last year's indoor season, including four All-OAC performers and one national qualifier. The women finished fourth, while the men placed sixth at the 2019 OAC Indoor Championships.

BW begins the 2019-20 indoor season on Saturday, January 25, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Westerville to compete in the Dave Lehman Open, hosted by Otterbein University inside the Clements Recreation Center.
