Cross Country Tabbed First, Fifth in OAC Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team has been picked to finish first in the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, while the men's team has been selected fifth.

The BW women, who are the defending NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Champions, were voted to finish first of 10 teams, garnering 79 points to go along with seven first-place votes. Trailing closely behind BW in this year's poll was four-time defending OAC Champions, Otterbein University with 67 points and one first-place vote. In third place was cross town rival, John Carroll University with 66 points and two first-place votes. Rounding out the top five vote getters were Ohio Northern University and the University of Mount Union in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

On the men's side, BW was selected fifth with 49 points. Leading the pack, was defending conference champion, Otterbein with 80 points and eight first-place votes. John Carroll followed with 71 points and the remaining two first-place votes. Third place featured Ohio Northern with 64 points and coming in fourth was Mount Union with 59 points.

 The Yellow Jackets open the 2019 season on Friday, August 30 when they travel to Wooster to compete at the annual Wooster Invitational on the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course at 6:00 pm.
