Men's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Unscored Raider Tune-Up

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed in the Raider Tune-Up, hosted by the University of Mount Union in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

In an unscored event with 15 participating schools, BW showcased one event champion and three top-three finishers.

BW's best performances in this afternoon's meet came on the track as junior distance runner Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) earned the lone victory for the Yellow Jackets in the 5,000-meter run event with a final time of 16:03.95. Competing in the same event was freshman distance runner Kyle White (Mount Gilead) who came in third, crossing the finish line in 16:32.07.

The half-dozen team of sophomore Drew Kopchak (Port Clinton), and freshmen Alex Burkhammer (Chardon/Grand Valley), LJ Tijerina (Archbold), ShaDaryll Clark (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) Daniel Kishmarton (Wickliffe) and Jake Robertshaw (South Park, Pa.) claimed the second spot in the 800-meter relay event, achieving a final time of 1:39.34. Capturing the remaining top-three performance for BW in today's meet was the foursome of Reynoso, sophomore John Komaromy-Hiller (Edgewood, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy), and freshmen Nick Dascani (Toledo/Springfield) and Garry Murray (Creston/Nowayne), who collaborated to attain the third position in the 4x1,600-meter relay event, with a mark of 3:43.80.

The Yellow Jackets return to the track on Friday, February 28 when they travel to Marietta to compete in the two-day All-OAC Championships, hosted by Marietta College in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
