Men's Indoor Track and Field Places Ninth at OAC Championships

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed in the second and final day of action at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by Marietta College.

At the meet's conclusion, BW placed ninth amongst the 10 participating schools with 18 total points. The University of Mount Union was declared OAC indoor track and field team champions for the eight stright year, after finishing atop the meet's standings with 214 points.

The Yellow Jackets' best performance this afternoon came in the field as senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) narrowly missed out on another indoor All-OAC performance, finishing fourth in the shot put event with a final mark of 49' 7.75".

On the track, BW was led by freshman distance runner Zack Justus (Maineville/Kings), who came in fifth place in the 800-meter run event with a career-best time of 2:00.55. Meanwhile, freshman hurdler/sprinter ShaDaryll Clark (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) garnered a sixth-place showing in the final round of the 55-meter hurdles event, with a final mark of 7.90 seconds.

BW returns to action on Saturday, March 7 when it competes in the NCAA Last Chance Invitational at a to-be-determined location.
