BEREA, Ohio – While COVID-19 has changed the landscape of athletics at the NCAA Division III level in 2020, Baldwin Wallace University continues to strive to provide its student-athletes with the best facilities and amenities.
The University and Kiefer U.S.A. recently completed the installation of a new state-of-the-art track surface inside The George Finnie Stadium. Kiefer U.S.A. removed the old surface in late May and installed a Mondo Super X 720 surface.
"We are really excited to have the new Mondo surface," said Coordinator of Cross Country and Track and Field and Head Cross Country Coach Joe Eby. "We want to thank the administration, donors and facilities personnel for making this project a reality. Without their support, we would not have been able to upgrade our facility to one of the best in the nation. It turned out great and we can't wait to show it off!"
Super X 720 is calendered for uniformity and consistency, providing superior performance throughout compared to EPDM textured surfaces:
- Engineered for superior speed and comfort
- Strong vulcanized rubber for optimum traction and drag reduction
The Mondo-patented hexagonal backing design generates a cushion of air for superior comfort and energy return. It allows for swifter transitions from the fifth to first metatarsal bones for greater speed, giving track and field athletes a proven biomechanical advantage.
