Brown and Gold Club Welcomes Three New Board Members

BEREA, Ohio –  The Baldwin Wallace University Brown and Gold Club is pleased to announce the addition of Larry Hoon '70, Katrina Lallo '03 and Jerry Sheets '69, '77 as it newest board members as sport liaisons.

Hoon, who will serve as the liaison for football and wrestling, was a teacher, assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Cleveland Heights High School for 38 years. His 1976 wrestling team won the Class AAA Championship. Hoon was inducted to the Cleveland Heights, Twinsburg and Ohio Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fames. While at BW, he was a four-year letterwinner in wrestling and a three-year letterwinner in football. In wrestling, Hoon was a team captain as a senior, the 1968 Ohio Athletic Conference Champion and the Most Valuable Wrestler Award winner in 1970.   He was undefeated in dual meets for three years. On the football field, Hoon was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference first-team selection, two-time All-OAC honorable mention selection, two-time Dick Van Almen Outstanding Lineman Award recipient and a team captain as a senior. Off the field and mat, he was the president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, sports editor of The Exponent and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. Hoon was inducted into the Alumni Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983 After BW, he earned a master's degree in physical education from Kent State University in 1975.

Lallo, who will serve as the liaison for cross country, tennis and track and field, is in her eighth year at Moen, Inc. and her first as a Senior Sales Enablement Training Specialist.  She served the past seven years as a Senior Training Coordinator in customer service.  Prior to Moen, Lallo was an Administrative Assistant at Newry Corporation, an Executive Assistant at Cleveland Research Company and a Sales Associate at FTN Midwest Securities. While at BW, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcasting and business management and organization and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Lallo was a four-year letterwinner in track and field. She was a three-time BW Outstanding Jumper Award recipient and an All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC performer.  Off the track, Lallo was disc jockey, news director and business director for campus radio station WBWC 88.3 FM.  She was also a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and an orientation leader.

Sheets, who will serve as the liaison for baseball, spent 35 years working with 501(c3) non-profit employers, including 25 years as the National Marketing Director with MetLife and Mass Mutual. Sheets was an Athletic Director at both Normandy High School and Rocky River High School.  Prior to Normandy and Rocky River, he was an assistant football coach and baseball coach at BW, while pursuing his master's degree. Sheets was also a football coach at Granville High School and was an English teacher, assistant football coach and head baseball coach at Berea High School. While at BW, he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's in Secondary School Administration.  Sheets was a four-year letterwinner and starter in football and a three-year letterwinner and starter in baseball.  On the football field, he was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection and a member of BW's first OAC Championship team under the legendary and Alumni Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Lee Tressel '49.  Sheets was an Outstanding Defensive Back Award winner and a Lee J. Tressel Academic Award recipient.

Board Transitions
Julie Work '98, who was a vice president for three years, replaces Natalie Winkelfoos '03 as the club's President, Gabe Adams '14, who served three years as a sport liaison, and Tim Budic '03, who served one year as a sport liaison, will take over as the club's first and second Vice Presidents, respectively.
