Men's Volleyball Announces Inaugural Schedule

BEREA, Ohio – Entering its inaugural season under head coach Kyle Mars, Baldwin Wallace University men’s volleyball and the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) have announced its 2021 schedule. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yellow Jackets will play a conference only schedule, featuring one doubleheader per week beginning on January 30.

The Yellow Jackets will make program history with a season opening doubleheader at Trine (Ind.) University on January 30 at 11 a.m. and 1 pm. With a win in the program opener, the Yellow Jackets would follow in the footsteps of the men’s lacrosse program, which won their debut game in 2013.

The following weekend, BW will play host to Olivet (Mich.) College for the first home matches in program history on February 6 at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. BW then heads out on the road for two matches against Wittenberg University on February 13, before returning home for a lengthy homestand against Wabash (Ind.) College on February 21, Adrian (Mich.) College on March 6 & 7 and the University of Mount St. Joseph on March 13.

The Yellow Jackets will end the season with a trip to Missouri to face Fontbonne (Mo.) University on March 20, followed by a showdown against fellow OAC competitor in the University of Mount Union on March 27.

The MCVL playoffs are tentatively scheduled to begin with the semifinals on April 9, followed by the championship on April 10. Coach Mars and the team are hoping to hit the ground running and to lead the Yellow Jackets into a top-four finish and a spot in the playoffs.
