Men’s Indoor Track and Field Competes at Unscored Hillsdale (Mich.) Meet

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at the two-day unscored Hillsdale (Mich.) College Wide Track Classic inside the Margot V. Biermann Athletic Center.

In day one action, freshman distance runner Casey White (Mount Gilead) placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run in a career-best time of 9:19.43. Meanwhile, in the 3,000 championship event, junior distance runner Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) ran a time of 9:04.47 to place ninth. Freshman sprinter/hurdler/jumper ShaDaryll Clark (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) qualified to Saturday's 60-meter hurdle semifinals with the eighth-fastest time of 8.59 seconds.

On the second day of competition, Krupp turned in the Yellow Jackets' best overall result on the track with third place in the 1-mile run in a career-best 4:34.84. Clark posted a time of 8.67 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle semifinals to finish 10th overall. Freshman distance runner Zach Justus (Maineville/Kings) placed ninth in the 800-meter run in a career-best 2:02.69.

In relay action, the quad of White, freshman distance runner Kyle White (Mount Gilead), freshman distance runner Garry Murray (Creston/Norwayne) and junior distance runner Larry Salerno (Mentor) placed seventh in the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 4:14.81.

Out in the field, senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) placed 10th in the shot put with a mark of 47 feet, 4.25 inches.

The Yellow Jackets return to Berea for their final home meet of the indoor season on Friday, February 14, for the Mid-February Open, beginning at 4 p.m. on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center.
