WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its schedule with a pair of non-conference victories over Washington and Jefferson College inside the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
BW (2-0) defeated Washington and Jefferson in its first match by a final score of 8-1. The Yellow Jackets closed out the fall season and the day with second victory over the Presidents by a final score of 7-2.
Match 1
- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) won 6-0 and 6-2 at first singles
- Sophomore All-OAC player Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) won by identical scores of 6-1 at second singles
- Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) won by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 at third singles
- Junior Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) won by scores of 6-2 and 6-1 at fourth singles
- Sophomore Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbia) won by scores of 6-0 and 6-4 at fifth singles
- Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) won by scores of 6-0 and 6-2 at sixth singles
- McGee/Horvath won by a score of 8-2 at first doubles
- Weingart/Harders won by a score of 8-4 at second doubles
Match 2
- Horvath won by identical scores of 6-3 at first singles
- Junior Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) won by scores of 6-2 and 6-0 at second singles
- Sophomore Joe Donnelly (Lodi/Cloverleaf) won by scores of 6-3 and 6-0 at third singles
- Junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) won by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 at fourth singles
- Junior Academic All-OAC player Caleb Reed (Wilmington) won by scores of 6-4 and 6-3 at fifth singles
- Binni/Donnelly won by a score of 8-7 (7-1) at first doubles
- Hicks/Perkins won by a score of 8-0 at second doubles
BW returns to action on Saturday, February 10 when it travels to Wheeling, West Virginia for a non-conference match against Franciscan University at the Indoor Tennis Center at Wheeling Park.
