HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team shutout Mary Baldwin (Va.) University in its spring break final by a final score of 9-0.
BW (9-2) all doubles and singles matches over Mary Baldwin (0-4).
Doubles
- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) won at first doubles by a score of 8-0
- Junior Academic All-OAC Caleb Reed (Wilmington) and sophomore Chaz Yates (Grafton/Midview) won at second doubles by a score of 8-1
- Junior Academic All-OAC Jack Hindman (Avon) and junior Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won at third doubles by score of 8-0
Singles
- Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) won at first singles by scores 6-2, 7-6 and 7-5 in tie breaker
- Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) won at second singles by scores 6-1 and6-0
- Junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) won at third singles by identical scores 6-0
- Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) won at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Freshman Nathan Meier (Brunswick) won at fifth singles by scores 6-1 and 6-0
- Junior Will Laskey (Mansfield/Madison) won at sixth singles by scores 6-2 and 6-3
BW is back in action on Sunday, March 24 when it travels to nearby Cleveland for a non-conference match against NCAA Division I Cleveland State University at the Medical Mutual Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
