Men’s Tennis Splits a Pair of OAC Matches

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team split a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference matches against Marietta College and Otterbein University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (12-5, 1-2 OAC) opened the day as it defeated Marietta (0-5, 0-4 OAC) in a rescheduled match by a final score of 9-0.   The Yellow Jackets closed out the doubleheader as it fell to Otterbein (8-6, 4-1 OAC) by a final score of 6-3.

Marietta Results

  • Junior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) won at first singles by scores of 7-6 (7-6) and 6-0
  • Sophomore Joe Donnelly (Lodi/Cloverleaf) won at second singles by scores of 5-7, 6-4 and 1-0 (7-0)
  • Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) won at third singles by identical scores of 6-0
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Caleb Reed (Wilmington) won at fourth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
  • Junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) won at fifth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Junior Jack Hindman (Avon) won at sixth singles by forfeit
  • Junior Al-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) won at first doubles by a score of 8-1
  • Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbia) won at second doubles by a score of 8-2
  • Hicks and Perkins won at third doubles by forfeit

Otterbein Results

  • McGee won first singles by scores of 6-4, 7-6 and 7-4 in the tiebreaker
  • Horvath fell at second singles by scores 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 and 7-5 in the tiebreaker
  • Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) fell at third singles by scores 6-2, 7-6 and 7-2 in the tiebreaker
  • Weingart fell at fourth singles by scores 6-0, 5-7 and 6-2
  • Harders fell at fifth singles by scores 7-5 and 6-0
  • Zeidler fell at sixth singles by scores 3-6, 6-2 and 6-1
  • McGee and Horvath won at first doubles by a score 8-0
  • Harders and Weingart won at second doubles by a score 8-7 (7-3)
  • Hicks and Zeidler fell at third doubles by a score of 8-6

BW is back in action on Monday, April 22 when it hosts a rescheduled OAC match with the University of Mount Union at 4:30 p.m.
