Men’s Tennis Stays Unbeaten with Victory over Berea (Ky.)

CLEVELAND – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season with a 7-2 victory over Berea (Ky.) College at the Medical Mutual Tennis Center on the campus of Cleveland State University

BW (5-0) won all doubles matches and four singles matches.  Berea (0-1) won two singles matches. 

Doubles

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) defeated Bogdan Petric and Lavar Pharris at first doubles by a score of 8-2
  • Junior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) and junior Academic All-OAC Caleb Reed (Wilmington) defeated John Whitaker and Nathan Jiang at second doubles by a score of 8-1
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Jack Hindman (Avon) and sophomore Chaz Yates (Grafton/Midview) defeated Elijah Simpson and Jordan Peterson at third doubles by a score of 8-2

Singles

  • Zeidler fell to Pharris at first singles by a score of 8-6
  • Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) defeated Petric at second singles by a score of 8-7 (5)
  • Junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) defeated Whitaker at third singles by a score of 8-3
  • Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) defeated Jiang at fourth singles by a score of 8-2
  • Sophomore Joe Donnelly (Lodi/Cloverleaf) defeated Simpson by a score of 8-0
  • Freshman Nathan Meier (Brunswick) was defeated by Peterson by a score of 8-6

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, March 3 when they travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the first of their five spring break matches when they take on Pfeiffer (N.C.) University at the Chaplin Community Park at 2 p.m.
