Three From BW Named to All-Ohio Football Team

BEREA, OHIO – Three Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been named to the 2012 All-Ohio Division III football team as selected by the website ohiocollegefootball.com (www.ohiocollegefootball.com). The trio are the first-team All-Ohio choice of senior defensive tackle Max Wagner (Mentor) and third-team picks of junior wide receiver/kick return specialist Josiah Holt (Elyria/Grafton Midview) and junior offensive tackleJason Cook (Streetsboro). The trio also have helped BW to a 22-8 mark the past three seasons, including a 7-3 slate this fall.

Wagner, who is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection and earlier was named as a second-team pick by the website D3football.com, had 27 tackles, including 3.5 for loss and three quarterback sacks despite being double-teamed all season. The four-year varsity standout had 93 career tackles, including 13.5 for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also forced three fumbles and deflected a pass.

Holt is a two-time All-OAC first-team selection, as a return specialist last year and as a wide receiver this season. He led BW in receiving with 41 catches for 642 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran the ball 36 times for 251 yards and two more scores, and returned 13 kickoffs for a 25.8-yard average. The NCAA Division III track and field All-American has been a three-year varsity contributor. After three seasons, Holt has 80 catches for 1,021 yards and seven TDs, rushed the call 47 times for 329 yards and three TDs, returned 40 kickoffs for a 28.6-yard average with three TDs, and he has even made four tackles as a "nickel" back on defense.

Cook also made the All-OAC squad and is a three-year starter. He is a key member on an offensive line that helped BW average 31 points and nearly 370 yards of total offense per game. During his three seasons of the varsity, he has helped BW average nearly 30 points and 375 yards of offense per game.
