BALDWIN WALLACE FOOTBALL INFORMATION:   Max played five seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University. He received a medical red-shirt as a freshman (2008-2009) due to an injury and missed most of his red-shirt sophomore season (2010-2011) with an injury.  He earned three varsity letters and served as a team captain as a senior in 2012-2013. He was a full-time starter at defensive tackle for three seasons (2009-2010, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013). He was named honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a junior (2011-2012) and was a first-team All-OAC and second-team All-North Region (selected by the d3football.com website/ www.D3football.com).

Individually, Max recorded 93 career tackles, including 13.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 quarterback sacks. He also forced three fumbles and batted down eight passes.  He also recorded a pair of safeties as a red-shirt junior in 2011-2012. As a full-time starter, BW recorded a 22-8 record.

Academically, Max was a solid student who maintained a 3.1 grade point average.

As a freshman in 2008-2009, Max played in his first season of football. He played one game on the varsity at DT and was injured and missed the rest of the season.  He received a medical red-shirt due to his injury. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a red-shirt freshman in 2009-2010, Max played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter.  Max played in nine games, including starting five at a DT.  He had 19 tackles, including 10 solo stops.  He also had one quarterback sack and two hurries. BW finished 3-7 overall.

As a red-shirt sophomore in 2010-2011, Max  played in his third season of football.  He saw action in two games before suffering a season-ending injury. Prior to the injury, he had seven tackles and 0.5 sacks for minus 12 yards.  BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a red-shirt junior in 2011-12, Max played his fourth season of football and earned his second letter. The starting DT had 40 tackles, including a career-high 8.5 tackles for loss and a career-high 5.5 QB sacks. He also forced two fumbles and was credited with making two QB sacks that resulted in safeties. For his efforts, Max was named honorable mention All-OAC. BW finished 8-2 overall and was ranked 24th in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division III national poll.

As a fifth-year senior in 2012-2013, Max played his fifth season of football, earned his third varsity letter and served as one of four quad captains. He was credited with making 27 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 quarterback sacks, despite being double-teamed all season long. He also forced a fumble and deflected a pass. For his efforts, Max was a first-team All-OAC choice and a second-team D3football.com All-North Region pick.  BW finished 7-3 overall.

MENTOR HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Max played four years of football and baseball and lettered three times in each sport. He also played basketball for three years and lettered one time. As a junior and senior, Max earned All-Lake Erie League, All-Northeast Ohio Inland District and OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) Division I All-Ohio honors. He was a member of Mentor's 2006 and 2007 OHSAA Division I State Finalist Teams.
