BEREA, OHIO – Seven Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been named to the 2012 All-Ohio Athletic Conference football team. Headlining the list are returning All-OAC players in junior wide receiver/ kick return specialist Josiah Holt (Elyria/Grafton Midview) and senior defensive tackle Max Wagner (Mentor).

Holt and Wagner were first-team selections, senior offensive tackle Jason Cook (Streetsboro), junior placekicker Chris Mohler (Kent/Roosevelt) and senior defensive end Joe Fitch (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) made the second team and senior quarterback Ryan O'Rourke (Avon) and senior safety Tom Goebel (Parma/Padua Fransiscan) were honorable mention picks.

Holt made the first team a year ago as a return specialist. This year, he made it as a wide receiver as he led BW in receiving with 41 catches for 642 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran the ball 36 times for 251 yards and two more scores, and returned 13 kickoffs for a 25.8-yard average. The NCAA Division III track and field All-American has been a three-year varsity contributor. After three seasons, Holt has 80 catches for 1,021 yards and seven TDs, rushed the call 47 times for 329 yards and three TDs, returned 40 kickoffs for a 28.6-yard average with three TDs, and he has even made four tackles as a "nickel" back on defense.

Wagner, an honorable mention pick last year, had 27 tackles, including 3.5 for loss and three quarterback sacks despite being double-teamed all season. The four-year varsity standout had 93 career tackles, including 13.5 for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also forced three fumbles and deflected a pass.

Cook was a three-year starter and a key on an offensive line that helped BW average 31 points and nearly 370 yards of total offense per game. During his three seasons of the varsity, he has helped BW compile a 22-8 record and average 30 points and 375 yards of offense per game.

Mohler has his best season as a collegian as he connected on 37-of-40 point-after-TD kicks (PATs) and 7-of-12 field goals to lead the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 58 points. As a two-year varsity kicker, he has connected on 64-of-72 PAT kicks (.889) and 9-of-17 field goals (.529) for 91 total points.

Fitch was one of the OAC's top defensive linemen. This season, he had 41 tackles, including team-leading totals of 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 QB sacks.  The fifth-year senior who missed his entire junior season and parts of two others due to injury ended his career with  70 total tackles, including 14.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. He also forced one fumble, recovered three others and deflected three passes.

O'Rourke, who was both an Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 choice a year ago, completed 123-of-213 passes for 57.7 percent for 1,720 yards with 18 TDs. He also ran the ball 61 times for 76 yards and a team-high-tying four TDs. Following his transfer from NCAA Division II Slippery Rock (Pa.) his freshman season, O'Rourke started for three years at BW.  At BW, his career numbers are 371-of-647 for 57.3% for 4.844 yards with 46 TDs. He also ran the ball 148 times for 166 yards and eight TDs.

Goebel, an Academic All-OAC pick last season, was second on the team with 61 total tackles, including one for loss, tied for the team lead with three interceptions, led the squad with eight total pass breakups and forced one fumble and recovered another. The four-year varsity player had 97 career tackles, including two for loss with five interceptions, 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

This season, BW finished 7-3 overall and was listed among the "Others Receiving Votes" in both the AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) and d3football (www.d3football.com) NCAA Division III national polls.
