BW Men’s Golfers Stand Second at Mount Union Fall Invitational

ALLIANCE-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands second of seven teams after the first round of the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational Tournament at the Tannenhauf Golf Course.  The final round will be played on Monday at the Alliance Country Club with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.

BW carded an 18-hole total of 302 strokes in the first round on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf G.C. layout and the Yellow Jackets trail John Carroll by seven strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) with a round of 73. Senior Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) and freshman Matt Kershner (Independence) each shot a round of 75. Senior Augie Ward (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) and freshman Scott Schroeder (Aurora) each added rounds of 79.

Playing individually, junior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) fired a round of 82. Following Lyon was freshman Austin Griffith (Barberton) with an 83. Senior Chris Nader (Westlake) and junior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) shot rounds of 87. Finishing out the scores was sophomore Connor Duplin (North Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) with a round of 90.

Following tomorrow's final round at Mount Union, the Yellow Jackets will end their fall season on October 7 when they travel to West Lafayette, Ohio to compete at the John Carroll University Fall Invitational Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club.
