BW Men’s Golfers Lead After First Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands first of eight teams after the first day of the three-day and 54-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Muskingum University, at the River Greens Golf Club.  The second day is tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, and final round is on Sunday, April 27.

BW carded a first day round of 303 strokes and is leading the first day by four strokes over Otterbein University.

In the first round, BW was led by junior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park / Fairview) who is leading all golfers with a round low of 74.

Along with Sanders, freshman Scott Schroeder (Aurora) shot a 75, senior Stephen Spalding (Stow / Walsh Jesuit) carded a 76, freshman Matt Kershner (Independence) shot a 78 and senior Augie Ward (Medina / Walsh Jesuit) rounded it out for the Yellow Jackets carding a 84.

The winner of the OAC Championships receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
