BW Men’s Golfers Leads After Second Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands first of eight teams after the second day of the three-day and 54-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Muskingum University, at the River Greens Golf Club.  The  Yellow Jackets will look to lock up the OAC title in the final round tomorrow, Sunday, April 27.

BW carded a first day round of 303 strokes, a second round 305, and a third round of 306 and is leading the second day by six strokes over Otterbein University.

Yesterday in the first round, BW was led by junior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park / Fairview) who had a round low of 74.

Along with Sanders, freshman Scott Schroeder (Aurora) shot a 75, senior Stephen Spalding (Stow / Walsh Jesuit) carded a 76, freshman Matt Kershner (Independence) shot a 78 and senior Augie Ward (Medina / Walsh Jesuit) rounded it out for the Yellow Jackets carding a 84.

Today in the second and third rounds, the Yellow Jackets were led by Sanders who carded a 75 in both rounds.

In addition to Sanders, Schroeder scored a 77 and a 76 in the second and third rounds respectivly, while Kershner shot a 77 in round two and a 79 in round three. Spalding recorded a 76 in the second round and a 87 in the third, While Ward carded an 80 in round two and a 76 in the third round to finish day two for the Yellow Jackets.

The winner of the OAC Championships will receive an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
