BW Men’s Golfers Finish Sixth at OAC Fall Invitational

COLUMBIA STATION -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished sixth of eight teams at Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational hosted by the Yellow Jackets at the Columbia Hills Country Club

BW carded a second-round 310 for a total of 609 strokes on the par-71 and 6,404-yard layout.  Otterbein University won the invitational with a total of 578 strokes and the University of Mount Union by placed second with 594.  Matt Mosca of Otterbein was the medalist with an even par 142.

BW was led by senior Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) with rounds of 73 and 76 for a total of 149 to finish tied for 10th individually.  Freshman Scott Schroeder (Aurora) playing in just his second collegiate event had rounds of 76 and 74 for a total of 150 to place tied for 14th.  Junior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) shot rounds of 73 and 80 for a 153 and senior Augie Ward (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) added  rounds of 77and 82 for a 159.   Rounding out the five man squad was freshmen Matt Kershner (Independence) who fired rounds of 80 on each day for a total of 160.

Playing as individuals, junior Any Ingram (Vermilion) and freshman Colin Greig (Willoughby/South) each had a two-day total of 156 as each shot 76 and 80.   Senior Chris Nader (Westlake) and junior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) each finished with 160.  Nader shot 74 and 86 and Lyon fired rounds of 79 and 81.  Freshmen Austin Griffith (Barberton) had rounds of 72 and 85 for 157 and freshmen Mike Devine (Richfield/Revere) had rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162.  Sophomore Connor Duplin (North Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 86 and 82 for a 168.

BW first travels to Galena on Friday, September 27 to compete in the Capital University Fall Invitational at Royal American Links.   The Yellow Jackets will then head to Alliance on Sunday and Monday September 29 and 30 to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Course.
