BW Men’s Golfers Win Spring Break Tourney

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished first of five teams and won the annual Spring Break Invitational, hosted by McDaniel (Pa.) College, at the Barefot Golf & Resort.

BW carded a round of 327 strokes on the par-72 and 6,055-yard Love Course at the Barefoot Golf & Resort layout.  The Love course is named after current PGA (Professional Golf Association) player Davis Love.

BW was led by freshman Matt Kershner (Independence) with a 77. He was followed in the main group (each team has six players and the top four count toward team scoring) by junior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) with a 79, freshman Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with an 85, senior Chris Nader (Westlake) with an 86, senior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) with an 89 and senior Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) with a 98.

Playing as individuals, freshman Austin Griffith (Barberton) had an 82, junior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had an 84, junior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) each had an 89 and sophomore Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) had a 90.

BW returns to action up north on Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30 when it travel to Zanesville, Ohio to play in the annual Muskingum University Spring Invitational Tournament at the Eaglestiocks Golf Club.
