Women’s Soccer Wraps Up Non-Conference Play With Loss to Wooster

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team fell to The College of Wooster in its last non-conference game of the season on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW took an early lead thanks to a goal from Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton), but Wooster would score two to take the lead into halftime. The Yellow Jackets tied things up with a goal from sophomore forward Sydni Mudge (Birch Run, Mich), but the Fighting Scots would then score with six minutes left in the game to seal the victory.

BW Leaders (4-4-1)

  • Rice scored her conference-leading tenth goal of the season
  • Mudge scored her second goal of the season
  • Freshman defender Ella James (Loveland) tallied one assist

Wooster Leaders (8-0-2)

  • Junior forward Hallie Krzys and senior forward Grace Gascoigne each scored a goal just two minutes apart
  • Junior midfielder Bailey Farrell scored the game-winning goal
  • Gascoigne and first-year defender Mia Stoller each added an assist

First Half (Wooster 2-1)

  • 13:50 – Rice kicks off the scoring with a Yellow Jacket goal
  • 17:08 – Krzys scores off a pass from Gascoigne
  • 19:25 – Gascoigne gives the Fighting Scots the lead

Second Half (Wooster 3-2)

  • 48:16 – Mudge scored off a James corner kick
  • 83:51 – Farrell scored off a Stoller rebound
