Women's Soccer Dominates Muskingum in 3-0 Victory

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated Muskingum University by a score of 3-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on North Turf Field. 

Less than two minutes into the first half, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) scored for the Yellow Jackets, setting the tone early for the rest of the game. Baldwin Wallace continued to hold their lead throughout the entire game by scoring an additional two goals ending with a triumphant win of 3-0 despite the Fighting Muskies' efforts. 

BW Leaders (7-6-1, 3-2 OAC)

  • Rice scored the first and last goal of the match at (1:26) and (70:32)  

  • Senior midfielder Jillian Neal (Fairlawn/Copley) assisted with the first shot of the game 

  • Freshman midfielder Grace Helmke (Manchester, Mich.) scored the second goal of the first half for the yellow jackets  

  • Junior goalkeeper Darcy Schoen (Chicago, Ill./Saint Ignatius College Prep) remained in position the full ninety minutes of the game with five total saves 

Muskingum Leaders (2-9-3, 0-4-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Kyleigh Dahlgren had six saves in 73 minutes

  • Senior goalkeeper Kelly Buck also recorded one save

  • Junior midfielder Morgan Meisel put up a team-leading eight shots 

 

BW is back in action on Wednesday, October 18 as they host Heidelberg University for an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
