Second Half Surge Lifts Women’s Soccer Over Waynesburg (Pa.) in Morgan’s Message Game

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team scored three second half goals as it rallied to defeat Waynesburg (Pa.) University in a non-conference and Morgan's Message game by a final score of 4-3 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

Morgan's Message strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.

BW Leaders (3-0-1)

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) and freshman forward Kalyn Rich (Lynchburg/Lynchburg-Clay) each scored two goals and added an assist for five points
  • Freshman defender Ella James (Loveland) tallied an assist
  • Freshman netminder Kelly Carver (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) faced 19 shots, including on 11 goal, and allowed three goals with nine saves.

Waynesburg Leaders (2-2)

  • Freshman forward Julz Mohrbacher scored two goals
  • Sophomore midfielder/forward Reagan Mittendorf tallied a goal and an assist
  • Senior midfielder/forward Kate James had an assist
  • Sophomore Mya Riggle faced 31 shots, including on 13 goal, and allowed four goals with nine saves
