Rice Garners First Career OAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the first time in her illustrious career, Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) has been named the OAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Rice garners the accolade after scoring five goals and adding one assist for 11 points in BW's 3-2 victories over Penn State Behrend College and Fredonia (N.Y.) University last weekend at the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.   She opened the tournament with a two goal and an assist performance against the Lions and concluded the weekend with a hat trick against the Blue Devils.

For her career, Rice has appeared in 39 games and has recorded 34 goals and five assists for 73 points.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, September 5 when they host a non-conference and home opener against Oberlin College on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
