Women’s Soccer Ends Season in OAC Tournament Semifinal Shootout Loss to John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio – The fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team concluded its 2023 campaign as it was defeated by first-seeded John Carroll University in a penalty kick shootout by a score of 4-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals on Wasmer Field inside Don Shula Stadium.

BW finishes the season with a record of 8-8-4 and an OAC record of 4-5-1. John Carroll (12-1-5) advances to the OAC Championship Game where it will host Ohio Northern University on Saturday, November 4.

BW Leaders

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference defender Ella Barth (Highland/Mayfield) scored her fourth goal of the season and her first of the postseason
  • Junior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) added nine saves
  • Senior All-OAC forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) recorded a team-high six shots

  • Junior forward Madyson Rosado scored one goal
  • Sophomore midfielder Alli Malinky recorded one assist
  • Freshman goalkeeper Madeline Martin Kosier tallied eight saves
