Women's Soccer Team Defeats Adrian (Mich.) College, 2-1

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team defeated Adrian (Mich.) College by a score of 2-1 this afternoon (Sunday, September 21, 2008) in Adrian, Michigan. The game was a make-up from the Sept. 3 contest which was postponed due to weather.  

With its win, B-W is now 3-2-1 overall and next hosts Grove City (Pa.) College on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m. With the loss, Adrian is now 5-2-1 overall.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at 23:21 of the first half as junior forward Natalie Fox (Canfield) scored off of an assist from sophomore midfielder Linsey Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/South). Adrian answered later in the half when Lindsay Chitwood scored unassisted at 38:20 but the Jackets quickly responded with a goal from senior midfielder Allie Wojtkun (North Olmsted/Magnificat) at 44:45. Freshman forward Noelle Fox (Canfield) picked up the assist on what would turn out to be the game-winner.

Sophomore goalie Becky Miner (Berea) totaled three saves to pick up the win in goal for the Jackets. B-W outshot Adrian 13-10 and held a decisive 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Through six games in 2008, sophomore forward Vickie Dreiling (Boardman/Youngstown Cardinal Mooney) leads B-W in scoring with three goals while Natalie Fox has five points on two goals and an assist.
