BEREA, OHIO - Baldwin-Wallace College senior women's soccer midfielder Allie Wojtkun (North Olmsted/ Magnificat) is this week's (September 22-28, 2008) Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Wojtkun earned the hnor for her efforts with game-winning goals against Hiram College (1-0) on Sept. 17 and at Adrian, Michigan College (2-1 on Sept. 21).
The OAC Player of the Week accolade is the second of her career. On the soccer field, the marketing and human resource management major who carries a 3.9 grade point average and is the daughter of assistant coach Jim Wojtkun, is a two-time All-OAC selection and a team captain the past two years.
In the classroom, Wojtkun, an Academic All-OAC and ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV soccer player, also won B-W's highest honor as a student-athlete a year ago when she earned the 2007-2008 Clyde Lamb Award. In addition, Wojtkun is a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and a Bonnie Raye Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
The Yellow Jacket women, 3-2-1 overall, are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 when they host Grove City College of Pennsylvania at 7:00 p.m. on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium. Wojtkun and the BW women also are home on Saturday, Sept. 27 when they host Westminster College of Pennsylvania at 4:30 p.m. in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader in Berea.
