Hildreth Breaks School Record, Women’s Lacrosse Shuts Out Muskingum

BEREA, Ohio – Sophomore goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) broke the Baldwin Wallace University career saves record as the Yellow Jackets shut out Muskingum University 20-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference action inside George Finnie Stadium.

Only needing two saves to tie the previous mark, Hildreth made seven stops against the Fighting Muskies (1-12, 0-5 OAC) to tally 247 career saves and own her second school record. The sophomore also records the second clean sheet of the season and just the third in BW (7-5, 4-1 OAC) women's lacrosse history, with the last shutout coming against Marietta College on March 30.

Junior All-OAC attack Brie Martineau (Strongsville) also hit a milestone against Muskingum when she recorded her 100th career point off of two goals and a career-high seven assists for a career-high nine points. Senior three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) tallied a hat trick and added two assists. Junior midfielder Savanna Jaekle (Lockport, N.Y.) netted four goals of her own. Both senior attack Mackenzie Moran (Carlisle, Pa.) and senior two-time All-OAC midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt) had identical lines of three goals and one assist for four points, tying career highs of goals and points for Moran.

The Fighting Muskies took nine shots in the game, one in the first half and eight in the second.

BW's offense was firing on all cylinders from the start of the game, opening up the scoring at the 28:58 mark. The Yellow Jackets added six more goals across the first 10 minutes and eventually built up to a 13-0 lead at halftime. Albrechta, Jaekle and Patrick each recorded hat tricks in the first half.

Six different players got involved in the offense in the second half as BW added seven more goals for the 20-0 victory. Martineau dished out four of her seven assists in the half and then recorded her 100th career point with a goal as time expired.

BW hits the road for the final time this season on Friday, April 19, with a trip to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg University at 1 p.m. inside Hoernemann Stadium.
