BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse head coach Nicholle St. Pierre has named her 2019 team captains.

Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt), senior three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) and junior two-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC defender Hannah Stein (Medina/Highland) have been selected to lead the Yellow Jackets this season.

"These three embody the culture and dedication we want for this program moving forward," St. Pierre said. "With all three, there is a great balance of leadership on all ends of the field and I'm excited to watch them grow in their roles this year."

A three-time team captain, Patrick has started all but two games in her career. Last season, she led the team with a career-high 53 ground balls, 79 draw controls and 31 caused turnovers while also scoring a career-high 31 goals, which was second best on the team. Patrick currently ranks in the top three all-time in career ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers.

"We truly have a special group of girls this year," Patrick commented. "The expectations we set are higher than previous years and everyone has been putting in the work to achieve our team and individual goals. It's an honor to have the opportunity to lead this team in our 2019 season."

Albrechta is a three-year letterwinner and three-time All-OAC selection who ranks among the all-time leading scorers. She recorded 19 goals, a team-high and career-high tying 16 assists and 35 points in just 13 games last season. In her senior campaign, Albrechta will look to become the school's third 100-goal scorer and continue to climb up the career leader ranks.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to help lead the team in my final season," Albrechta remarked. "I think the potential we have for this season will allow us to reach the high goals we have set. We have a lot of talented underclassmen mixed with experienced upperclassmen this year and I'm looking forward to my part in helping my team reach the goals we have sought for ourselves in the 2019 season."

The lone junior captain in the group, Stein recorded career highs across the board in her sophomore campaign. She tallied 30 goals, four assists, 34 points and 50 draw controls. On the defensive side, she had 18 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Stein's 83 career draw controls currently ranks her fifth in school history.

"It is an absolute honor and privilege to have the opportunity to lead this team," Stein said. "This is truly a special group that has worked hard all offseason to put ourselves in the best position going into the 2019 season. I look forward to continuing to push one another on and off the field to work toward reaching our goals."

BW opens the 2019 season on Saturday, Feb. 23, with a non-conference game against Centre (Ky.) College at 3:30 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
