Taylor Giordanengo Joins Women’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse head coach Nicholle St. Pierre has announced that Taylor Giordanengo '18 will join the staff as an assistant coach for the 2019 season.

"I'm really excited to be adding Taylor to our coaching staff," St. Pierre said. "Having a year as a student-athlete under my coaching guidance has her up to speed on where we want to take this program in the near future. She has no learning curve on what BW has to offer to our future recruiting classes being a proud alum."

Giordanengo returns to her alma mater after a successful four-year career as an All-Ohio Athletic Conference defender for the Yellow Jackets. She appeared in 63 games with 62 starts and recorded 84 ground balls, caused 47 turnovers, won four draw controls and scored two goals. Giordanengo ranks among the program leaders in career ground balls and career caused turnovers at seventh and sixth, respectively.

As a sophomore in 2016 when both goalkeepers were sidelined with injuries, Giordanengo stepped in and started all 18 games in goal. She finished with 98 saves and a .398 save percentage to stand fourth and third in program history, respectively. That season, Giordanengo also recorded a season- and career-best 39 ground balls while leading the team to an 11-6 record in between the pipes.

Her lacrosse experience isn't just limited to the field, however, as Giordanengo is currently in her first season as the head girls' varsity lacrosse coach at Olmsted Falls High School. In addition to working the BW fall lacrosse clinics while a student-athlete, she has also worked the Xcelerate Nike Camp the past four summers, supervising and teaching lacrosse to youth ranging from 8-18 years old.

During her time as a student at BW, Giordanengo worked as both an equipment manager intern and a football student equipment manager. Her various responsibilities included organizing, distributing and collecting game day and practice gear for all varsity teams; training new hires in equipment and game day operations; creating and directing equipment and game day shift schedules; and aiding in the day-to-day logistics of the football team's practices and games.

A native of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, Giordanengo recently graduated from the University in December of 2018 with a bachelor's degree in business management.
