Martineau Earns Offensive Player of the Week Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack Brie Martineau (Strongsville) has been named the OAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Martineau led the Yellow Jacket offense to wins over Ohio Northern University and Muskingum University. Against the Polar Bears, she netted five goals in the first half and added one assist for a team-leading six points. Martineau then followed it up with a career performance against the Fighting Muskies with two goals and a career-best seven assists for a career-high nine points. The junior also became the seventh 100-point scorer in school history with a goal as the second-half clock expired.

On the season, Martineau leads the Yellow Jackets with her 34 goals, 53 points and 71 shots while sitting second on the team in assists with 19. Additionally, she has tallies of 23 ground balls, 34 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers.

For her career, Martineau has appeared in 34 games with 24 starts and has recorded 73 goals, 27 assists, 100 points, 50 ground balls, 36 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. She currently ties for sixth in all-time goals while ranking fifth in career assists and seventh in career points.

BW hits the road for the final time this season on Friday, April 19, with a trip to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg University at 1 p.m. inside Hoernemann Stadium.
