ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team caged Ohio Northern University for a 13-7 Ohio Athletic Conference victory inside Dial-Roberson Stadium.

Junior All-OAC attack Brie Martineau (Strongsville) tallied five goals in the first half and added an assist in the second to lead BW (6-5, 3-1 OAC). Both senior two-time All-OAC midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt) and sophomore midfielder Maddie Ray (Cuyahoga Falls/Akron Revere) netted hat tricks while senior three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) recorded one goal and two assists for three points.

In the net, sophomore goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) made five saves to record her sixth victory of the season.

Sophomore attack Sydney Skelding and junior midfielder Jacqui Lehman led the Polar Bears (6-6, 2-2 OAC) with a pair of goals each. Junior goalkeeper Kelli Hill made a game-high 22 saves in the loss.

Right from the beginning, the Yellow Jacket offense was pressing the issue and took 13 shots before Ohio Northern could get a look at the net. Meanwhile, Martineau could not miss as she scored the first four goals of the game for a 4-0 BW lead with 17:40 remaining. Three different players then found the back of the net as the Yellow Jackets increased its lead to 7-0. After being held scoreless for almost 25 minutes, the Polar Bears closed out the half on a 2-1 run as BW held an 8-2 advantage at halftime.

Both teams traded goals to start the second half until Ray and Patrick combined for an extended 3-0 run, putting BW ahead for a 13-4 lead with 6:54 left on the clock. However, Ohio Nothern added three goals to its total, all coming in the final two minutes of action, but could not come any closer as the Yellow Jackets held on for the victory.

BW returns home on Saturday, April 13, to host Muskingum University in OAC action at 1 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
